10 September 2018: The Tower Bridge and Arsenal

That Monday we spoke at the ECBM about the Modern British Economy and the (difficult) Housing Market in the UK and especially in London.

After College I went with Sabine and a friend of her, who visited Sabine at London, to the Tower Bridge by tube.

Afterwards we splitted our group. Sabine and her continued the sight seeing tour.

I met David and we rode by underground to Arsenal.
Finally, we arrived at the Emirates Stadium, which is a enormous building in the middle of this district.

In Addition, we saw a statue of Thierry Henry, on of the best football player of Arsenal London ever.

Saturday 08.09.18 - Camden Market

First thing we did on September 8th was to sleep in.
After that all of us had breakfast together in our flat.
Strengthened for the day Sabine, Josip, Kerstin and me took off to Camden Market.
As the “Central line” was not running that day it felt like a trip around the world.

We started by bus after which we took the TFL train which
was followed by the metropolitan line and the Northern line.
When we finally reached our destination it felt like paradise.
They had a great variety of food from all over the world.

After we had tried all sorts of different things we carried our well-fed bellies back home.
While the others went out to party,
Kerstin and I stayed in to watch
a movie.

The end

Friday, 07 September 2018: Greenwich and the Docklands

Greenwich and Docklands Tour

Today we had the oppurtunity to visit the Docklands and Greenwich in London with the ECBM. Our tour began with some interesting facts about the docks in London and some information about Greenwich. It started with a short trip via tube. Afterwards we had a 1.5 hour walk along the Themse. We had a lot of nice views.

Lunchtime

After the tour ended we decided to go to a restaurant all together.

Greenwich Market

At the Greenwich Market me and some other girls bought some souvenirs for family and friends in Germany.

Prime Meridian

Afterwards me and Jasmin went to the Prime Maridian and enjoyed the view to London City on the top of the hill.

Boat trip

We took the boat to come back to the Central of London and enjoyed our Friday night together.

Tuesday 4th: The law courts - Walkie Talkie Tower - Musica “Wicked“

On Tuesday we had an exursion to the law courts with our teacher Lorraine. It was very interesting to see a trial in the UK. Unfortunately it wasn‘t allowed to bring mobile phones with us so I wasn‘t able to take any photos of our excursion.

Afterwards Jessica and I went to the Walkie Talkie Tower. We booked a slot to visit the Sky Garden at the top of the building. It was a fantastic view at the Skyline of London.

In the evening Melanie, Sophie, Jessica and I enjoyed the great Musical „Wicked“.

Sabine Helisch: Business Entrepreneurship

Today we had on our schedule the subject business entrepreneurship. The task for today was to find and present a new idea of a product or an app as a product. We were splitted into 3 groups and every group had to have a new product.

At first we had to create a logo and a name for the product. Secondly we had to put these things into a presentation and combine it with a lot of research. We had to do a Swot analysis, find a target group and research the possible costs and revenues of the new product in the first years.

After 2 hours of work, we presented our ideas to the class and a jury like it is in 'die Höhle des Löwen'.

The idea of Mara, Sophie, Ioannis, Ipek and me won the competition with the idea of 'chargie'. It is a cable for a phone, that you can use between two phones to charge the other one. You share your power.

After school we went in a pub and enjoyed our free time.

Best regards,
Sabine Helisch

Hyde Park and Parliament District

On the 2 August we vistited Londons Hyde Park where we made an hour pedal boat tour on its lake.

Afterwards we strolled through the park towards Buckingham Palace where I ran into my doppelganger a, in my opinion, rather handsome looking fellow.

At the end of the evening we finally arrived at the Parliament District, where we were able to enjoy the extraordinary view of the Big Ben and its scaffolding.

A trip on the London Eye

After our second day at school we meet our teacher from Germany in the evening at the London Eye.
She invited us for a ride. The view was amazing. We are very grateful for that and had a nice evening.

The City of London

On Friday we enjoyed a tour through the City of London with one of our teachers, Lorraine. She showed us all the important places and buildings you can find there. It was very exciting to see all These huge skyscrapers. Always worth a trip.

The Leadenhall Building known as the "Cheesegrater":

30 St Mary Axe better known as the "Gherkin":
